The camp was designed to provide scholarship holders with a benchmark for personal fitness. They also received specialist coaching, and participated in strength and conditioning sessions.
On Saturday the scholarship holders were put through a battery of fitness tests by SERAS intern students David Halpin and Joe Northey. The afternoon sessions included on-court skill instruction from head coach Luise Clements (Tuross Head) and assistant coach Sheree Harrison (Goulburn) while David Halpin provided the athletes with their fitness programs. David also put the girls through a pool recovery session at the Australian Institute of Sport at the conclusion on the day’s activities.
The athletes had a three hour court session on Sunday morning under the supervision of the SERAS coaching staff. This session provided the platform for the upcoming Academy Challenges being held during March and the Academy Games to be staged in April.
